Deepen your thinking.Resolve what’s in front of you.
Helping founders, owners and leaders open up new possibilities by thinking differently about the situations in front of them.
Introduction
Room to think clearly, when something important needs to move forward.
I’m Carl Taylor, a psychologically informed coach and Chartered Counselling Psychologist. I work with founders, owners, and leaders carrying a decision that’s genuinely theirs to make.
You’re not short of ideas, and you’ve probably already tried the obvious things: blocked out time that didn’t hold, had the conversation that changed nothing, talked it over with someone and come away no clearer. What’s usually missing isn’t effort. It’s somewhere to think it through, so what you already know you should do becomes something that actually happens, not just another intention.
My coaching draws on more than 25 years of experience in conversations with people navigating change, complexity, responsibility, and important decisions.

That experience shapes how I listen, what I notice, and the questions I ask, but the work stays firmly coaching, focused on you and where you want to go.
I work online via Zoom with people across the UK and beyond, from a base in Central London. It’s a working relationship: honest, considered, and useful.

What clients say
The biggest benefit came from being challenged to examine how and why I do the things I do, and then prioritise accordingly. Learning to give myself permission to view situations differently was incredibly valuable. This gentle but consistent challenge over a number of months was probably the most useful aspect of the coaching. Looking back, many of the most valuable outcomes were things I wouldn’t have known to ask for at the outset.
I started coaching with Carl feeling very stuck, needing support to think through some difficult professional decisions. He helped me explore what was really going on and accept that some parts of my situation needed wholesale change. He then helped me build a long, medium, and short-term strategy to move forward. I now feel hopeful about my work for the first time in a long time.
This coaching experience far exceeded my expectations. It felt genuinely meaningful, and it focused on real, necessary things. It helped me get real clarity on my next step, and doing it now feels possible and accessible. I know how to do it, and I feel far less apprehensive. I am doing it.
This process has strengthened my belief in what I am doing and given me a clearer sense of direction as I continue to develop my private practice. Overall, I have found this coaching experience to be both positive and genuinely valuable.
I was coached by Carl across six sessions, and from the outset he had a real ability to put me at ease. He brought warmth and humour to our conversations, while still challenging me thoughtfully and helping me look at things from different perspectives. What stood out most was that I genuinely felt Carl cared. He had a knack for recognising and reminding me of strengths I had sometimes lost sight of. That helped me draw on those strengths, rather than trying to be something I wasn’t, and face the challenges in front of me with greater confidence and in a way that felt authentic to me. I really valued our sessions together and have no hesitation in recommending Carl as a coach.
It was useful to have someone help me brainstorm and think more deeply about my focus and who I wanted to reach as a therapist. Carl’s psychological understanding was invaluable in working through moments of uncertainty.
