Who we are:

What we collect

When you use the contact form, we collect your name, email address, mobile number, and the content of your message. These are sent by email to coach@carltaylor.co.uk. Nothing you enter is stored in a database on this website.

Please do not include detailed health information or other sensitive personal details in the contact form. A short note about what you would like to discuss is all that is needed at this stage. Anything more sensitive is better raised in a conversation.

When you browse the site, we collect anonymous, aggregated statistics: which pages are viewed, roughly where in the world visitors come from, what type of device they use, and which site referred them. This information is not linked to you, does not identify you, and cannot be used to build a profile of you. No cookies are used for this purpose, and the statistics are stored on our own server rather than being sent to any analytics company.

Our web host keeps standard server logs, which may include IP addresses, for security and diagnostic purposes. These are retained for a short period and are not used to identify individual visitors.

Why we process your information, and on what basis

We use the information you send through the contact form solely to respond to your enquiry and, if you decide to go ahead, to arrange an initial conversation.

The lawful basis is the taking of steps at your request prior to entering into a contract, under Article 6(1)(b) of the UK GDPR.

Where an enquiry does not lead to any working relationship, we rely on our legitimate interests in responding to people who contact us, under Article 6(1)(f).

We use website statistics to understand which pages are useful and to improve the site. The lawful basis is our legitimate interests in maintaining and improving our own website. Because this data is anonymous and involves no cookies or similar technologies, your consent is not required.

We do not use your information for marketing. We will not add you to a mailing list, and we will not contact you about anything other than the enquiry you sent.

How long we keep it

If your enquiry does not lead to a working relationship, we delete it within one month of receiving it, and usually within a week.

If you go on to become a coaching client, your information is retained in line with the terms set out in your coaching agreement.

Who else sees it

Your information is not sold, and is not shared with third parties for their own purposes.

We use a single service provider: Hostinger, which hosts this website and provides the email service that receives contact form enquiries. Hostinger acts as a processor on our instructions.

Website statistics are generated by software running on our own server. No analytics company receives your data.

Our server is located in the United Kingdom, and your information is not transferred outside the UK.

We may also disclose information where we are required to do so by law.

Cookies

This website does not use tracking, advertising, or analytics cookies, and there is no cookie consent banner because none is needed.

WordPress, the software this site runs on, may set a small number of strictly necessary cookies to keep the site working correctly, for example during form submission. These do not track you across websites and are exempt from the consent requirement under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations.

If this ever changes and non-essential cookies are introduced, we will ask for your consent first, and refusing will be as straightforward as agreeing.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • ask what personal data we hold about you and receive a copy of it
    have inaccurate information corrected
  • have your information deleted
  • restrict or object to how we use it
  • receive your information in a portable format
withdraw consent, where we have relied on it
  • To exercise any of these, email coach@carltaylor.co.uk. We will respond within one month.
  • Given how little we hold and how briefly we hold it, most requests are straightforward.
  • If you sent an enquiry more than a month ago and did not become a client, it has almost certainly already been deleted.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to put it right.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at any time:

We review this policy periodically and will update it if how we handle information changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
